This Privacy Policy explains how 8dge Solution Pty Ltd (ABN 82 602 895 796) (“8dge Solution”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use the Hostello website, platform and related services (the “Service”).

Information you provide

Account information. When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address and password. Passwords are securely managed by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text.

Property content. We collect the information you choose to upload to your guides, including property names, addresses, check-in instructions, Wi-Fi details, house rules, local recommendations, images and other content.

Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are securely processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing information such as your customer ID, subscription status and payment status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Communications. If you contact us for support or enquiries, we collect the information you provide in those communications.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect information including:

  • IP address
  • browser type and version
  • device information
  • operating system
  • pages viewed
  • date and time of access
  • referring website
  • usage statistics
  • diagnostic and error logs

Published guest guides

Hostello is designed to publish digital guest guides.

Any information you choose to include in a published guide — including property details, addresses, check-in instructions, Wi-Fi information, images and local recommendations — may be accessible to anyone who has the guide link.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you publish is accurate and appropriate.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information where required by law, court order or lawful request from government authorities, or where necessary to protect our rights, users or the public.

Business transfers

If 8dge Solution Pty Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, business sale or restructuring, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Overseas Disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
